Wool, wool, wool giveaway

So did I get your attention? With the hustle and bustle of the holidays, my hooking took a back seat for a few weeks. Over the New Years weekend, I found some free time in between sledding, skiing and hockey (it's a wonder that I am still walking) to hook this little mat. It was so snowy and cold during the weekend that it just seemed right to hook this snowman, Mr. Hempenstall! You can purchase him on my website ( which I need to update)
Photobucket
The colors in this rug are a little more muted than my normal palette but I really like the look of this guy. The background wool is the most awesome wool. It is a taupe checked wool and hooks up so old looking and is just so soft and wonderful. I bought close to 15 yards of it and can see myself using it over and over! It also great wool for sheep. When I sold it at Star of Texas, it was the first wool to go!
So for the giveaway.......I'll giveaway 4 quarter (1/4)yards of this wool to 4 of you.....just leave a comment in the box as to why you need this wool! I'll pick the winners Thursday night!

I want to do a large rug for my living room and really need that shade for a main color. I use a lot of thrifts, and have some good wool for my big rug. I want this rug to have better wools and brown textures as the background colors.

Hm, lets see... I need the wool because I am new to hooking and have a very small stash. And everyone knows that more wool means a warmer home. :)

I'm like Beth -- new to hooking and would love to get a wool stash. :D Thanks!

Happy New Year Maria! You have more energy than anyone else I know...who else would do all that stuff and then come home and feel like hooking...LOL! OK, you enticed me when you said "wool giveaway." I guess I'd like to win some of the wool because I don't think I have any of that particular texture. And because I enter a lot of these give-aways but never win anything.

Maria, hard to believe you found some free time in between all those activities! Mr. Hempenstall is adorable. Love the colors and the background looks great!
Thanks for a chance to win a piece. My reason would be that it is hard to find that old looking background wool without trying to dye it. Looks great!

Wow! I got tired just reading about all of your activity over the holidays! I just LOVE your new snowman addition. Just may have to swing over to your website and see about adopting him! The color pallete that you used really speaks to me! And as far as needing the wool? I probably don't really need it but it sounds so wonderful and yummy that I'm sure that I could find a use for it! Would love to see a picture of it! Thanks for the opportunity!

Mr. Hempenstall is so cute - Love him and love the colors you did.

Now about needing the wool - Well because I'm a rug hooker - need I say more? LOL No actually because I'm always needing a nice old looking neutral - whenever I try to dye a neutral light background i get more brown or yellowy with our wonky water! Thanks for the chance at the giveway - very generous of you!

Maria, Love your Mr. Hempenstall. Your color choices are great, too. I could use the wool for background. I don't have much light colored wool for background, mostly darks and I have a pattern that I have been collecting wool for. This would be perfect. patijane

Oh how I love your new snowman pattern! I have to order him!

As for the wool, if it's the one I think it is, you know I bought some from you but I love that one so much I would love to add more of it to my stash. Sometimes there are favorites that you just hate to run out of!

Our daily temps in the winter are around 70F. It's VERY hard to find wool to recycle when no one here is giving it away!

So...I need STASH! I'm still in the "collecting mode", like that's every gonna change, lol.

Thank you for your generosity!

My Dad always says it not the needs that get you in trouble but the wants. I can't say I need the wool but I would love it to make some candle mats and table runners. Thanks...Dianntha

Maria I think Mr. Hempenstalls mission is to bring joy, he is such an adorable fellow he just makes you smile!

I really need this wool because sheep/snowman colored wool is the color I have the least of....so many snowmen and sheep waiting to be hooked if only I had the wool....

Hi Maria,

Cute new pattern! Of course I would love to win a piece of this wool! I love that value of a background. Or it might make a leaf. Or some lettering. You are kind to share.

Mr. Hempenstall is just the cutest. Really like that background--I would really have to be "stepping out of the box" as I tend to hook so many dark backgrounds. Would love the wool for my stash!

Oooooooh - that would make a great background for your pattern "Something to Crow About" which I have but haven't started yet. It's snowing and freezing here so some great wool would warm me up! :) Thanks - love all your patterns!

Maria,
I'd love a 1/4 of this beautiful wool since I'm not sure where to find wools for backgrounds. They are either too washed out or too dark. Love this wool and love that cute pattern! Thank you for your generosity.

Maria,
I would love to have a piece of wool to inspire me to get hooking again. It would make me wonder if our paths crossed on the square in Bucyrus many years ago.
