I love wool that gives you what I call "Big Bang for the Bucks". I've used two of the "Big Bang for the Bucks" wool in my Halloween Giveaway rug. The background is one wool. It is a fabulous striped wool that instantly ages a rug. Here is a closeup of the wool.
When hooked it gives the appearance of many different tones of the taupe/tan color. I hooked the wool in an up and down manner to contrast against the roundness of the pumpkin. Below, you can see how the wool hooked up in Nancy's antique Santa rug.

Below is a close-up of the wool I used for the pumpkin. The stripes in this wool give the appearance of several different colors when hooked. I use this wool for everything. Sheep, Santa's Beard, Snow and background.
My all time favorite "Bang for your Buck" wool is this orange striped wool. I just love it!
The pumpkin in Happy Jack was hooked entirely with this wool!
Trust me, striped wool gives you a lot of "Bang for your Buck" and as Martha says, "IT is a good thing". Thanks for stopping by, Maria
I can't see the photos of the wools? I love using textures in wools, the really give the rugs a lot more character and movement. I get thrift wools and love finding jackets with different textures.
